JEFF LEEDS RECEIVES HALL OF FAME INDUCTION
Former AVC Track & Field and Cross Country coach Jeff Leeds was recently inducted into the California Community College Track and Cross Country Hall of Fame on Aug 6, 2019, in Las Vegas.
Former AVC Track & Field and Cross Country coach Jeff Leeds was recently inducted into the California Community College Track and Cross Country Hall of Fame on Aug 6, 2019, in Las Vegas. Leeds served as an assistant coach under legendary AVC Track & Field and Cross Country coach Mark Covert.
Coach Leeds coached sprints, hurdles, and relays at AVC from 2002-2016. He coached five State Champions and was instrumental in Antelope Valley College hosting the 2010 State Track Meet along with the Southern California Regional Track meets in 2013 and 2015.
Leeds becomes the third member of Covert's track staff to be named to the Hall of Fame. Along with Jeff and coach Covert, James Harvey who coached with Covert for a total of 15 years (eight years at LA Valley College and seven years at AVC) was inducted in 2004.
