THEOLOGIDY AMONG TOP RUNNERS IN STATE
IRVINE - With only two collegiate races under her belt Marauder freshman Mariah Theologidy has already proven herself to be one of the top runners in the state.
And it showed Friday afternoon against southern California's elite runners at the So Cal Preview meet at Irvine Park.
Theologidy finished fourth overall with a time of 19:07.12. Teammate Krista Beck was 18th overall crossing the line in 19:52.50.
As a team, the Marauders finished 14th overall, which according to head coach Mark Covert would qualify them for the state meet at this point in the season. Glendale College, who had four of the top six runners in the race, finsihed first overall, followed by Mt. Sac and College of the Canyons.
Only a few weeks ago Theologidy also finished fourth in her first ever meet in Oxnard.
Giselle Masedo (Glendale) was the top finisher with a time of 18:32.37, followed by teammate Leana Setian (18:58.87) and Santa Ana College's Toni Lopez (19:03.96).
