HARRISON, SPIVEY QUALIFY FOR CONFERENCE FINALS
BAKERSFIELD - Kim Harrison and Cedric Spivey both qualified for next week's conference finals at Moorpark College, Saturday at Bakersfield College.
Harrison finished eighth in the 100 with a personal best time of 11.16. Harrison will join three sprinters from Santa Monica College, including Jordan Herrera, who had the fastest time of the day (10.70), alongside two more from West LA College and one each from Glendale College, Ventura College and Moorpark College.
Spivey finished third in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.77. Only Elisha Edwards of Moorpark (14.66) and J'Vaughn Singleton of West LA (15.54) ran faster times.
Both Harrison and Spivey failed to qualify in the 200 and 400 hurdles with times of 22.52 and 1:03.81 respectively.
Imani Carrington was third in the long jump (22-03.75) and teammate Tyrone Barnes finished seventh (21-02.00). Kylon Lincoln and Daniel Bell, both of West LA, finished 1-2 with leaps of 22-11.00 and 22-09.75. Carrington entered the contest with much better jumps than both Lincoln and Bell.
