DUNCAN BURNS UP TRACK AT AVC INVITATIONAL
LANCASTER - Jasmane Duncan won the 200 and 400 at the AVC Invitational, Friday afternoon at Marauder Stadium.
Duncan knocked more than a second off her best time in the 400 as she crossed the line in 58.93. She was the only runner to break the one-minute mark in the event. Later in the meet Duncan won the 200 in 25.99, once again knocking more than a second off her personal best.
"This was a really quality meet and the kids performed well," AVC head coach Mark Covert said. "It was very encouraging for us. I think we're headed in the right direction."
Mariah Theologidy was first in the 3000 steeplechase with a time of 12:19.60. Destiny Ventura was second in the 400 hurdles (1:08.04) and Carolina Gonzalez was third in the 3000 meter run (11:02.93).
Cherice Thomas was second in the long jump (16-04.25) for AVC.
