MARAUDER WOMEN CAPTURE THREE FIRSTS AT WESTERN STATE SOUTH MEET
CULVER CITY - Robyn Webb had an impressive outing for the Marauder women's track and field team at the Western State Conference South meet at West LA College, Friday afternoon.
Webb took home first place in the shot with a put of 30-05.75, outdistancing Moorpark College's Sierra Huerta (30-01.00) who finished second. Webb also finished second in the hammer (108-08) and third in the discus (87-05).
Webb's teammate, Anna-Helene Augusta, was almost as equally as impressive as she finished first in the discus (97-04) and third in the hammer (97-08).
On the track side, Jasmane Duncan earned the third first-place finish for the Marauders as she won the 200 in 27.04 finishing just ahead of West LA College's Jordyn Dorsey (27.28). Duncan almost made it a double-double as she finished second in the 400 with a time of 1:00.06. Londan McNair of Moorpark College won the event finishing in 59.00.
Destiny Ventura was edged out in the 400 hurdles by West LA's Kyndahl Carter. Carter won the race in 1:09.06 to Ventura's 1:09.31. Other notable finishers for the Marauders were Cherice Thomas who finished seventh in the 100, clocking 13.46 and Carolina Gonzalez who was 11th in the 1500 at 5:14.49. Thomas also leaped 15-11.75 to finish fourth in the long jump.
