MARAUDERS SHOOT LOWEST TEAM SCORE OF THE SEASON

The women's golf team shot their lowest team score of the season at Simi Hills golf club on Wednesday. Despite the course being heavily undulated with out-of-bounds in play on many holes, the Marauders were able to rise to the occasion at the most opportune time.
With multiple college scouts in attendance, Makayla Dorman led AVC with an 89. Her score was good for 9th overall. Dorman's individual average remains top 10 in the conference, which puts her on pace to receive all-conference honors as a freshman.
Last year's regional qualifier Scarleth Pleitez, followed Dorman with a 90, 12 shots lower than her challenging, adversity filled round on Monday. Scarleth's efforts were good for 10th place overall individually. Chloe Riviere and Melody Garcia both shot personal bests for the season, contributing heavily to the team's success.
The wins against Citrus, Bakersfield, and Moorpark ensure the Marauders a tie for 3rd in the conference, which puts them on track to qualify for regionals as a team for the first time in school history.
"I'm happy with how the girls performed today, and I couldn't be more proud of all four of them," said head coach Patrick Londono. "Battling through adversity is something we discuss on a regular basis, and today we put our capabilities to do so on display."
The Marauders will play WSC #8 at Sand Canyon Country Club in Santa Clarita on Monday.
