MARAUDER WOMEN'S BASKETBALL HOLD OFF VICTOR VALLEY 54-40
Antelope Valley's Lady Marauders picked up a big win against Victor Valley on Saturday, February 8th. After falling to the Lady Rams earlier this season, the Marauders came back strong in their second meeting. AVC jumped out to an early lead behind 10 first-quarter points from Malaiya Patton. The action-filled game stayed close as Victor Valley outscored AVC in the second and third quarters, but the Marauder's firepower was too much to overcome in the fourth resulting in the 54-40 win for AVC.
Patton and Tori Dunn led all scorers with 18 points each while Cierra Steemer scored 12 points for Victor Valley. AVC's Sasha Duckett had a huge night on the glass with 22 rebounds and also chipped in eight points and six assists.
The Lady Marauders will try to make it two in a row at LA Valley on Wednesday and will return for their next home game on Saturday, February 16th against Glendale.
