VISALIA - Despite Shantanel Bivens' sixth double-double of the season, the Marauder women's basketball team did not have enough as it lost to Ventura, 64-48, at the College of the Sequoias Tournament, Friday evening.
Bivens finished with 15 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. On the season she is averaging 12 points and 11 rebounds. Brieanna Perkins finished with nine points, all coming from 3-pointers.
AVC only trailed 29-21 at halftime and cut that lead to seven points following the third quarter, however, the Pirates outscored the Marauders 21-12 in the final quarter to solidify the victory. AVC only shot 31 percent on the game but shot a higher percentage (35 percent) from 3-point range.
