SAN JACINTO - Aniyah Terry scored a career-high 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, but it was not enough as the Marauder women's basketball team lost its second game in a row, losing to Chaffey, 60-49, Sunday at the Mt. San Jacinto Tournament.
The Marauders got off to a poor start as the Panthers grabbed a 20-13 lead at the end of the first quarter. AVC didn't respond in the second and trailed 30-21 at halftime.
"The girls just didn't have that desire to compete. There was no togetherness. We just don't have a good leader right now. We need to reevaluate people's roles," AVC head coach Barry Green said. "Things were looking up after the first few games, but what a difference a week makes. We had high expectations after the first few games. We lost to a team I think we should have beat and right now it's about finding that group of kids that play hard together."
The Marauders committed 26 turnovers and were only 4-of-13 from the free throw line.
