GLENDALE - The Marauder women's basketball team struggled shooting the ball but was still able to come away with the victory against host Glendale College, 49-37, Saturday afternoon.
AVC was led by Shantanel Bivens who came off the bench to score 11 points and grab nine rebounds. Malaysia Broome was the only other Marauder to score in double figures by finishing with 10 points.
AVC only shot 34 percent the entire game and only 19 percent from 3-point range, however, it still led 25-16 at halftime. Glendale College shot less than 30 percent on the afternoon.
With the victory, the Marauders trail first-place College of the Canyons by three games and LA Valley College and Citrus College by one game in the Western States South Division standings.
The AVC defense forced Glendale College to commit 22 turnovers. The Marauders' Jasmine Hayes finished with five points and seven rebounds.
