Marauder Softball got back in the win column with a 10-2 victory over Riverside on Tuesday.

Marauder Softball got back in the win column with a 10-2 victory over Riverside on Tuesday.
Kaitlyn Cronin got the Marauders on the board early with a sacrifice fly to right field, scoring Nayely Delgado in the 1st inning. The Tigers evened it up scoring a run in the top of the 3rd. But AVC would answer back in a big way with 5 runs in the bottom of the inning. Alexa Alvarez hit an RBI double to score Delgado. Cronin then singled for her second RBI to score Alvarez.
Brianna Garrett then hit a 2-RBI double to bring home Maritza Arroyo and Ariel Nieto. Amy Manzo then singled to score Garrett and give AVC a 6-1 lead.
The Marauder defense played well with no errors in the game. Garrett led the charge striking 8 of 23 batters faced in five innings.
Antelope Valley's bats stayed hot in the 4th inning when Savannah Moakley hit her third home run of the year. The freshman finished 2-for-2 with 1 RBI. Moakley leads the team in homers and also has a team-leading .462 batting average. She's also tied with Arroyo with a team-high 6 RBIs.
Ariel Nieto extended the lead with an RBI single, bringing Delgado home. Delgado finished 1-for-2 with a stolen base and scored three times. Nieto finished 1-for-1 with an RBI and scored twice.
Garrett kept the run going with another RBI-hit to score Alvarez.
Amy Manzo ended 1-for-2 with an RBI while Maritza Arroyo finished 2-for-3. Alexa Alvarez scored twice and went 1-for-1 with an RBI.
The Marauders will try to get back to .500 with a win against a tough Ventura team on Thursday. Game time is set for 2:30 pm at AVC.
