AVC Softball advanced to the Super Regionals after a 10-1 victory over Santa Ana. The Marauders won the best of three game series taking games one and two.
The game was scoreless until the 3rd inning when Aricka Price hit an RBI double off the fence in left field scoring Briana Garrett. Price then scored on a passed ball. Camrynn Stanbro then hit a solo homer to left-center. After Maritza Arroyo scored on a passed ball, Jessica Munoz kept the offense going with an RBI single scoring Alyssa Tami and giving AVC a 5-0 lead.
Santa Ana was able to score their only run in the 5ith inning, but the Marauders bounced right back in the bottom of the inning when Arroyo singled scoring Pricilla Lopez. Tami then doubled scoring Stanbro to make it 7-1.
The game then ended in the 6th inning after Stanbro hit her second home run of the game, a monster 3 RBI shot to left field. "Honestly when it hit my bat I knew it was going to be gone and I couldn't believe I hit my first walk-off for my team in Regionals," said Stanbro. She finished 4-for-4 with 4 RBIs and two home runs. Both Jessica Munoz and Maritza Arroyo finished 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Briana Garrett got the win in the circle giving up just three hits and striking out six batters.
