MARAUDERS TOP SANTA ANA IN GAME 1 OF REGIONAL PLAYOFFS
AVC Softball took the first game in the best of three playoff series against the Santa Ana Dons. The Marauders totaled nine hits with no errors to win 8-1.

AVC Softball took the first game in the best of three playoff series against the Santa Ana Dons. The Marauders totaled nine hits with no errors to win 8-1.
AVC jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead off an RBI double from Briana Garrett which scored Isabelle Gomez. Garrett finished 1-for-1 with an RBI and two walks. She also had six strikeouts while giving up one run in the seven innings pitched.
The Marauders then had a huge seven-run 2nd inning. Alyssa Tami started the scoring rally with a single that brought in Meesha Arroyo. Isabelle Gomez then hit a big triple which scored Tami and Camrynn Stanbro. Jessica Munoz then added a run with an RBI single to score Gomez.
With a five-run lead, the Marauders weren't finished yet. Pricilla Lopez then capped off the rally with a three-run home run. Lopez drove a ball well over the fence in right-center field to score Garrett and Munoz.
AVC played mistake-free defense holding the Dons to just one run in the 4th inning. Isabelle Gomez finished 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs while Jessica Munoz finished 2-for-2 with 1 RBI. Pricilla Gomez ended with one hit and 3 RBIs.
The Marauders lead the three-game playoff series 1-0 and will look to close it out in the second game on Saturday at noon at Marauder Stadium.
