LANCASTER - The Marauder's offense came through pushing them to two victories in their double-header matchup against Southwestern. AVC scored 22 runs on the day taking game one 6-5 and game two 16-11.
In the first contest, Kaitlyn Cronin hit her third HR in two games to give the Marauders an early 2-0 lead. Southwestern came back scoring 5 unanswered runs to lead 5-3 in the 6th inning. Syann Winbush then singled scoring 2 runs, followed by Briana Garrett's RBI single to give AVC the lead.
Pitcher Isabelle Gomez (W, 1-0) held off the Jaguars in the final inning to secure the win for AVC. Gomez also finished 3-4 at the plate, and Camrynn Stanbro went 3-3.
AVC also struck first in the second game behind a 2 run HR from Briana Garrett and a solo HR from Camrynn Stanbro. Southwestern struck back in the 2nd scoring 6 runs. Alyssa Bubar then hit a solo HR to give the Jaguars a 4 run lead in the 4th.
The Marauders then exploded for 8 runs in the 4th behind a triple from Pricilla Gomez Lopez, a HR from Rosie Marquez, and a HR from Camrynn Stanbro, which was her second of the game. The Jaguars came roaring back again with 4 runs in the 5th inning. AVC responded with another 5 unanswered runs to end the game 16-11.
Stanbro finished 2-4 with 2 HRs and 4 RBIs. Lopez ended 2-3 with 2 RBIs while Briana Garrett finished 3-4 with a HR and 5 RBIs.
