CARRINGTON LEAPS TO VICTORY IN BAKERSFIELD
BAKERSFIELD - Imani Carrington has been one of the most consistent athletes for the Marauder men's track and field team.
It showed again at the Bakersfield Relays on Saturday afternoon at Bakersfield College as Carrington won the triple jump with a leap of 42-11.00 ahead of College of the Canyons' Delon Buncio who finished second in 42-01.50.
Carrington was also second in the long jump (21-03.25). Tyrone Barnes was third with a jump of 21-01.25. Buncio won the event in 21-04.00.
Cedric Spivey took home another victory in the 110 hurdles with a personal best time of 15.68, easily defeating Glendale's Neron Palmer (16.19) and El Camino's Justin Moore (16.20). Matthew Skoog was first in the hammer (119-01) and sixth in the discus (105-10).
Cameron Windham was solid in the sprints by finishing second in the 100 (11.45) and eighth in the 200 (23.14). Samuel Aguirre knocked nearly 10 seconds off his personal best time and crossed the line in 4:14.90 to finish ninth.
The Marauders finished fifth overall with 61 total team points. El Camino won the meet with 137 points.
