CARRINGTON, BARNES LEAD MARAUDER MEN'S TRACK AND FIELD
CULVER CITY - Marauder teammates Imani Carrington and Tyrone Barnes battled it out in the long jump and triple jump Friday afternoon at the Western State Conference South meet at West LA College.
In the end it was Carrington that edged out Barnes winning both events as Barnes finished second. Carrington won the long jump with a leap of 22-07.75 ahead of Barnes' 21-00.00. Carrington repeated in the triple jump (45-08.00) just ahead of Barnes' jump of 45-00.25. Barnes also ran an 11.46 to finish 16th in the 100.
Cedric Spivey was second and seventh in the 110 and 400 hurdles with times of 16.01 and 1:04.06 respectively. Teammate Robert Moore was fourth in 110 hurdles in 16.39.
Additionally in the 100, Cameron Windham finished seventh in 11.18. Jordan Harrison clocked 11.42 to finish 12th. Santa Monica College's Jordan Herrera won the race in 10.75. Windham was also 11th in the 200 (23.74).
Other notable finishers on the track side were Fernando Flores in the 1500 who finished eighth (4:17.10). Samuel Aguirre crossed the line in 4:23.45 to finish 11th in the same event. Glendale College's Alejandro Ambrossio won the event in 4:04.91.
Matthew Skoog was second in the hammer throw (118-08) and fourth in the discus (110-07). Robert Wheatley was fifth in the discus (108-04) and sixth in the hammer (103-08). Issiah Lindsey ended the afternoon fourth in the hammer (108-05).
