LANCASTER - The Marauder men's soccer team had trouble with Canyons' offensive attack as it allowed three goals in the first half and dropped the match to the Cougars, 5-2, Tuesday evening.
AVC's defense had no answer for COC's Caesar Dominguez and Aaron Winsick who scored all of its goals. Dominguez finished with three goals while Winsick contributed with the other two. He also added an assist.
The Cougars scored only five minutes into the match. They extended their lead only 13 minutes later following Dominguez' first goal. Dominguez gave COC a 3-0 lead entering halftime with a goal as time expired to end the half.
The Marauders finally got on the scoreboard only four minutes into the second half following a goal by Vince Lewis, seemingly giving AVC some momentum. However, Dominguez scored at the 65th minute giving him the hat trick and the Cougars a comfortable lead.
Jose Mojica scored his conference-leading 11th goal of the season cutting the lead to 4-2, but the match was too far out of reach.
