PALM DESERT - The Marauder men's soccer team needed only 10 minutes to take complete control of the game as it cruised to an easy 3-1 victory over host College of the Desert, Wednesday afternoon.
AVC improved its record to 2-0 while the Roadrunners dropped their record to 0-1-1.
Jose Mojica got things rolling for the Marauders with an unassisted goal only two minutes into the game. It was Mojica's third goal of the season.
Only seven minutes later, at the 9:20 mark, Mojica added an assist when he found Vince Lewis for AVC's second goal of the afternoon. Later in the first half AVC took a commanding 3-0 lead following a goal by Cameron Taylor off the assist from Gerson Alvarenga at 38:21.
COD didn't score until 43:35 of the first half following a goal off the foot of Ezekiel Barragan. Still the Marauders held a comfortable lead. Neither team scored in the second half.
AVC outshot the Roadrunners, 29-25, and goalkeeper Ruben Umana had six saves for the Marauders.
