Brennen Boulger played as an individual at So Cal Regionals and missed the cut by five shots. Boulger completed 36 holes at Los Serranos Country, playing both the North and South courses.
In the first round on the North course (Par 72), he shot a 78. Boulger got off to a great start with three birdies in his first six holes to put pressure on the field. He then started having issues off the tee with his driver and had to battle to hang in the remainder of the round.
In the second round on the South and more difficult course (Par 74), he shot a three-over 77. With four birdies in the round, Brennen had opportunities to shoot under par on the harder course, but he just couldn't get the putts to drop in order to give him that low score needed to advance. "Competing in regionals was a great experience for Brennen. He has worked very hard on his game and has made tremendous strides in his freshman season," said head coach Brad Hazard.
Boulger's total was 155. The cut was 150, giving the top 6 out of the field of 42 individuals the opportunity to advance to the State Championship. "It's disappointing missing the cut by only five shots, but this experience will benefit and motivate him as he prepares to make another run at it next year" noted Hazard
