AVC Men's Golf team finished up there regular season by playing 36 holes of Conference Finals at Soule Park in Ojai.
The Marauders came in 6th on the day with a 405 (1st round) and 418 (2nd round). Team leaders were Brennen Boulger 78,77 (155), Alex Mattie 77, 81 (158), Justin Holt 76, 84 (160), and Trevor Hoffmeyer 82, 88 (170). "Although we came up short as a team it was great to see both Alex and Justin finish of their freshman season with solid rounds. They both are very talented but have struggled with adjusting to competitive play at this level." said head coach Brad Hazard. Mattie ended up missing regionals by just two shots while Holt missed by four shots.
Brennen Boulger was one of six individuals that qualified to go to regionals, and he made the Western State All-Conference Team by finishing in the top 10 in league scoring average for the season.
"We weren't able to qualify as a team, but we are very proud to have Brennen represent our golf program, our college and the community of Antelope Valley for Southern California Regionals," noted coach Hazard.
Boulger is set to compete in Regionals which begin next Monday at Los Serranos Golf Course in Chino Hills. "He has been our most consistent player and a leader both on and off the golf course. It's quite an honor for a freshman to be recognized as one of the top golfers in the Western State Conference," stated Hazard.
