AVC Men's Basketball lost 65-83 to West LA in their first conference game on Wednesday. The Marauders started slowly but came to life behind 13 first-half points from Evan Scott-Alexander. Antelope Valley's 43% shooting from the field was enough to give them a 7-point lead heading into the break while holding the Wildcats to 32 points off 30% shooting.
The second half would be a different story as AVC struggled to contain the Wildcat offense. West LA exploded for 51 second-half points off 43% shooting while holding the Marauders to just 26 points and 26% shooting. The Wildcats also outrebounded AVC 55-43. Scott-Alexander led all scorers with 22 points on the night. He also had 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals. Josh Montiano had 13 points, while Lucas Bagsik had a game-high 6 assists. Joshua Assiff had a team-high 11 rebounds to go along with 7 points, and Ryan Frazer contributed 8 points and 5 rebounds.
Antelope Valley (6-9, 0-1) plays on the road at LA Valley before returning home to face Santa Monica on Wed., 1/11, at 7:00 pm.
