VICTORY # 1 FOR MEN'S BASKETBALL

The AVC Men's Basketball team got its first victory of the season in splendid fashion as they defeated Moorpark college 78-64 in the second day of the Ventura College Basketball tournament. AVC took a quick 5-0 lead in the game and never looked back. 

The Marauders were led by Freshman Steve Johnson who came of the bench to score a team high 14 points, going 4-7 from 3 point range. Julian Payton had another solid game scoring 11 points to go along with 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Jalen Riley had an excellent floor game, scoring 7 points, 4 rebounds and a team high 8 assists. AVC only had only 9 turnovers and all 11 players who played, scored. 

 

AVC will play the host team tonight, Ventura College. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 P.M
