LANCASTER - The Marauder football team will host its inaugural, Antelope Valley College (LIGHT IT UP TOURNAMENT) on Saturday for 16 teams throughout the valley and other parts of southern California.
The kickoff tournament of the passing league season will include Antelope Valley High School, Paraclete, Palmdale, Lancaster, Littlerock, Eastside, Highland, among others including LaSalle, Crespi, Santa Monica and Sierra Canyon.
"It's going to be exposure to our campus and our facilities," Marauder head coach Perry Jehlicka said. "I think it's a good thing building relationships with many high schools and it will be a recruiting opportunity for us. But more than that we can show we have a lot to offer as a college."
The 7-on-7 tournament will begin at 2pm and will be played on both practice fields and Marauder Stadium. The championship game will be played at Marauder Stadium at 7:15pm.
