With the bases loaded, Nate Scott was hit by a pitch, and Lupe Puentes drew a walk bringing in two runs. DH Josh Nuno then hit a 2-RBI double to give the Marauders a 9-6 lead.
Rio Hondo made one last push and tied the game at 9-9 in the 7th inning. Mason Johnson hit a sacrifice fly to right field, giving AVC what would end up being the winning run in the bottom of the 8th. Starting pitcher Jake Glickman went three innings, but it was Patrick Berry who got the win for the Marauders with four strikeouts in two innings of work. Sam Maudsley recorded his first save of the season. Both Josh Nuno and Dom Antinetti finished 2-for-4, while Ariv Camacho had three hits in five at-bats.
