Marauders Baseball outlasted College of the Canyons 15-8 in their third conference match-up of the season. Canyons jumped out to an early 1st inning lead, but AVC was able to score two runs in the first and three runs in the second to stay on pace. Tied 5-5 going into the top of the 4th inning, Canyons scored two runs to take the lead. The Marauders then exploded for eight runs in the bottom of the fourth to lead 13-7, and they never looked back.
Wyatt Hendrie went 3-for-4 with two triples and finished with 4 RBIs. Michael Haith also had 4 RBIs off a three-run double in the fourth, and a sacrifice fly out in the seventh. Both Celso Castro and Andrew Garcia finished 1-for-4 with 2 RBIs, while Brandon Otis finished with three hits on the day.
Starting pitcher Griffin Hagen got the win to improve to 2-2 on the season while Carlos Daniel Oceguera and Spencer Foley combined for three strikeouts in relief.
The Marauders are now 4-3 in conference and 9-12 overall. They will face Canyons again on the road, before returning home to battle Glendale on March 26th at 2:30 pm at Marauder Baseball Stadium.
