Women's Volleyball won a tough 5-set conference battle against the West LA Wildcats on Wednesday.
AVC started slowly, dropping the first two sets 16-25 and 18 -25. They rallied behind outside hitter Kylee Eubanks-Hemme to take the next two sets 25-19 and 25-20. The freshman from Rosamond High School combined for 13 kills in sets three and four en route to a game-high and season-best 19 kills on the day. She also added 11 digs and 2 aces.
The Marauders rode the momentum along with 5 kills from Julia Mueller to take the fifth and final set 15-8 and the 3-2 match victory. Mueller finished with 14 kills and 18 digs. Cameron Nelsen had a team-high 32 digs, while Nicole Fletes recorded 35 assists and 11 digs.
AVC improves to 1-6 in conference and 4-11 overall. They have away matches at Glendale and Canyons before returning home to face Bakersfield on November 3 at 6:00 pm.
