MARAUDER TRACK & FIELD TEAM ROUNDING INTO FORM
The Antelope Valley College Track and Field team participated in the Bakersfield Relays hosted by Bakersfield College.
Antelope Valley College Men's and Women's Track and Field team participated in the Bakersfield Relays hosted by Bakersfield College.
After losing a competitive opportunity in February due to inclement weather, the squad has started to show the kind of improvement that bodes well for the Conference and Regionals meets that are eight weeks away.
Out of 26 Marauders who competed, 18 men's and 14 women's seasonal and personal bests were set in multiple events. The Men's and women's 4x100 relays both improved their rankings, as the men improved from 10th to 5th and the women from 8th to 2nd. The men's 4x400 relay scored an exciting come-from-behind win to finish off the day's events.
Eight Marauder men and 13 Marauder women are currently ranked in the WSC's top 10, including Mak Ene, who holds the top spot as the conference's #1 triple jumper.
The team returns to Bakersfield for the annual WSC Inland competition, pitting the Marauders against host Bakersfield, Santa Monica, Glendale, and College of the Canyons. Field events are scheduled for a noon start and 1 pm for the first running event.
