SANTA CLARITA - Carolina Gonzalez and Mariah Theolgidy both advanced to the State Championship Cross Country Meet in Fresno following their performances at the Southern California Championships at Central Park in Santa Clarita.

Gonzalez was the first Marauder to finish crossing the line in 20:23:85 to finish 30th. Theologidy, who has been battling recent injuries, made it through to Fresno finishing in 20:45:12 to earn a 43rd place finish.

"It's exciting to see the work that these athletes put in during the summer and fall and how it all comes together during championship time," AVC head coach Josh Villalobos said. "These athletes have overcome a lot of obstacles, from injuries to juggling life as a student-athlete in order to get to this point."
 
Gonzalez and Theologidy will compete on November 18th at Woodward Park.
