MARAUDERS FIGHT HARD BUT FALL TO GLENDALE
Women's Volleyball opened conference play with a 1-3 home loss to the Glendale Vaqueros on Wednesday.

Women's Volleyball opened conference play with a 1-3 home loss to the Glendale Vaqueros on Wednesday. After dropping the first set 25-21, AVC bounced back to take set two 25-23. They battled hard, losing set three by 3 points, 25-22. After starting the fourth set down 0-7, the Marauders climbed back but eventually lost 25-19.
Antelope Valley was led by Kyla Dothard, who had 17 kills and 17 digs. The 5'9 freshman from Lancaster High School leads the Marauders in kills on the season with 60, and in digs with 87. Nicole Fletes and Ella Gawallek had 7 kills each on the day, while Vanessa Fletes had 5 kills to go along with 13 digs and a season-high 35 assists. She has 135 assists on the year. Ella Gawallek had 3 aces and the team-high 18 digs, while Nicole Fletes had 17 and Tiffany Romano 11. Gawallek, Vanessa Fletes, and Sabre Jensen had 3 blocks each. V. Fletes and Romano also had 2 aces each.
The Marauders are 2-6 and will continue conference play at home on Wednesday, Oct. 5th, against West LA.
