LANCASTER - After dropping its first 15 sets in a row and suffering a five-match losing streak, the Marauder women's volleyball is finally out of its slump.
AVC won its second match in a row, both at home, with a convincing 26-24, 26-24, 16-25, 25-18 victory over Santa Monica College, Friday night at Marauder gymnasium.
The Marauders opened the season with an 0-5 record, albeit against some of the top ranked teams in the state. However, AVC has played much better in its last two victories against College of the Desert and the Corsairs.
Much like she has done most of the season, AVC's Tiffany Matchett led the team with 12 kills and 13 digs. Teammates Madison Waring and Asia DeVera each chipped in with 12 assists.
The Marauders look to make in three in a row at home when they host Citrus College on Wednesday.
