THEOLOGIDY, GONZALEZ ADVANCE TO STATE

CERRITOS - Mariah Theologidy and Carolina Gonzalez advanced in the 3000 meter steeplechase and 5000 meter run respectively to the state meet after qualifying in the So. Cal Finals, Saturday at Cerritos College.

Theologidy finished sixth in the steeplechase with a personal best time of 11:33.90. College of the Canyons Diani Ellis won the event in 11:26.91.

Joining Theologidy at the state meet will be Gonzalez who finished eighth with a time of 18:33.27.

Jasmane Duncan failed to qualify in the 400 by finishing sixth with a time of 58.79. On the men's side, Imani Carrington did not qualify in the long jump or triple jump. Carrington finished ninth in both events with leaps of 21-11.50 and 44-05.25 respectively.
