JYLIAN BROWN WINS FIRST MATCH AT NO, 2 SPOT AS MARAUDERS FALL TO CANYONS
Jylian Brown playing for the first time at the number 2 singles spot won in three sets 6-2, 2-6, 10-8 picking up the lone victory for the Marauders.

Although the top three singles matches were all pushed to third sets, the Marauders fell to visiting College of the Canyons 1-8.
In doubles play Kristi Henderson, and Jylian Brown went down 7-1, but then put together four straight wins to get to 7-5, fell behind 0-40, then fought back to 30-40 before losing 8-5.
Marijane Garcia and Caroline Gonzalez lost 0-8, and Marisol Valdez and Frida Anguiano fell 2-8. In singles play, Henderson lost the first set 0-6, won the second 6-4, then took a 7-4 lead in the third set tiebreak before losing 10-7.

Marijane Garcia also pushed her match to the limit spitting the first two sets 6-1, 1-6, then in the only full third set he fell (3) 6-7. Caroline Gonzalez fell 1-6, 0-6, Marisol Valdez lost 2-6, 1-6, and Frida Anguaino lost 2-6, 5-7.
Marbella Rubio again won a non-scoring match.
Coach Webb stated, " This is the best play we've had from the top of our lineup all year. The ladies fought hard for every point and have shown tremendous improvement thus far."
"I was very happy for Jylian, who pulled out a tough victory in her first match playing up in the No. 2 spot. Webb also noted, " we will continue to put in the work to improve and give maximum effort. That is what is required for us to be successful."
The Marauders continue Western State Conference play on the road at Glendale on Thursday, February 20th, at 2:00 pm.
