WOMEN'S TENNIS DROPS CONFERENCE HOME OPENER TO SANTA BARBARA
Women's Tennis lost their conference home opener to the defending conference champion Santa Barbara Vaqueros 9-0.

The Santa Barbara City College Vaqueros entered the match as the defending Western State Conference champions. It appears they are well suited to defend their crown as they defeated the Marauders 9-0.
In doubles play, Kristi Henderson and Marijane Garcia and Jylian Brown and Caroline Gonzalez both lost 0-8. Marisol Valdez and Frida Anguiano lost 1-8. In singles play, Henderson lost 0-6, 0-6, Garcia lost 1-6, 1-6, Brown lost 2-6, 0-6, Gonzalez lost 0-6, 1-6, Valdez lost 0-6, 1-6, and Anguiano lost 3-6, 4-6.
Head coach Justin Webb stated, " We knew we would be in for a tough match against Santa Barbara. We fought hard and pushed many games to deuce, but weren't able to win enough of the key points. We'll continue to work hard and improve to be able to do that and put ourselves in a better position to win the match."
Next for the Marauders is a home match against Bakersfield College on Tuesday, February 11th, at 2 pm.
