For the first time in a very long time, the Antelope Valley College Women's Tennis team participated in the State Championships at the 119th Ojai Tennis Tournament. Although the team fought hard, both doubles teams were eliminated. Mary-Flint Herrera and Viktoriia Belonogova lost 6-0, 6-0 and Becca Jaimes and Natalie Pinzon lost by the same score.
"While we don't like the results on the court today, we are just so proud of the progress we made as a team and a program this year," stated Coach Webb. Webb also noted, "At the end of the season you always look back over the year. This year our team won more games than any at AVC since 2013, we tripled the win total from last year, and we had individuals qualify for the State Championship for if not the first time in school history, the first in the last 30-40 years. I told the ladies how proud we are and after the disappointment wears off, they should all be proud of what they accomplished as well."
