WOMEN'S TENNIS WINS SECOND STRAIGHT MATCH WITH 5-2 VICTORY OVER VICTOR VALLEY

The Marauders continued their solid play of late defeating Victor Valley College at AVC 5-2.
In singles play, Becca Jaimes won 7-5, 6-1, Erica Garcia won 6-0, 6-1, Mary Flint Herrera won 6-2, 6-0 and Marbella Rubio picked up her first win on the court with a 7-5, 6-0 victory. Viktoriia Belonogova lost 6-1, 6-1.
On the doubles side, Viktoriia Belonogova and Mary Flint-Herrera fought valiantly overcoming a 5-3 deficit to tie the match at 5-5 but ultimately lost 8-6. Becca Jaimes and Erica Garcia won their doubles match 8-2. "We continue to see great things on the court," stated Head Coach Justin Webb. Webb also noted, "We are also pleased to see the adjustments we are making in matches."
Both Becca and Marbella played tight 7-5 first sets, made adjustments, and impressively won the second with 6-1 and 6-0 results. "This is something we have discussed quite a bit, and it's nice to see us put it in practice." The Marauders will continue their marathon-like final week of the regular season with their third of five matches this week at Fullerton College on Friday, March 29th at 2 pm.
