The Marauders picked up a 7-2 road win at Victor Valley on Thursday.
Erica Garcia won her first singles match of the year dropping the first set 4-6 before rallying to win the second 6-3 and 10-7 in the third set tiebreak. Natalie Pinzon and Marbella Rubio also had their first doubles win of the year winning 8-6. Pinzon was down early in the first but fought back to win 6-4 6-2, and Mary Flint Herrera took control of her match in the first set pulling away from her opponent winning 6-3 6-2.
Becca Jaimes won handily 6-0, 6-0 and Marbella Rubio won the number 6 singles by default. Garcia and Jaimes also won their doubles match by default as Victor Valley had only five players available for the match. "We're very pleased with the way we played today. Many of the ladies fought through early difficulty and found a way to win. We spend a great deal of time talking about being able to overcome adversity, and we did that today" noted Head Coach Justin Webb.
