AVC Women's Soccer notched their second win of the year against West LA College at home on Tuesday. The 7-1 win came rather easily as the Marauders dominated the action from start to finish with 20 shots and 12 shots on goal.
Cassi James led AVC with 2 goals. She continues to lead the team on the season with 15 goals. Kaylin Gonzalez recorded her 10th goal of the season and also had an assist. Paola Figueroa, Lourdes Teodores, and Samantha Contreras scored as well as Joy Kim, who reached the net for the first time this year. Kelsey Brustuen and Megan Salvesvold had 2 assists each, while Brenda Murillo had one. Salvesvold leads the team in assists with 12 on the year. Abree Fry gave up a goal, while Katie Crees had one save on the day.
The Marauders have won five straight, remain in first place in the Western State-South Conference at 10-0-1, and are 13-3-2 overall. They will look to extend their win streak to six on Friday as they host Santa Monica at 12:30 at Marauder Stadium.
