AVC Women's Soccer recorded a 0-0 draw against College of the Canyons on Friday. It was their second 0-0 tie of the season, as they recorded the same result against Moorpark earlier on the schedule.
The Marauders pushed the tempo as they outshot the Cougars 21 to 6, with 8 of the shots on goal. Cassi James led the attack with 5 shots, 3 on goal, while Isabell Cerda had 4 shots with 1 on goal. Kaylin Gonzalez and Kimberly Duarte had 3 shots each. Megan Salvesvold (2), Brianna Ortega (2), Paola Figueroa (1), and Kelsey Brustuen (1) recorded shots as well. The match was one of the most physical battles this year, with a total of 35 fouls between the two teams. Katie Crees had 2 saves on the day.
AVC is now 5-0-1 in conference and 8-3-2 overall. They will travel to Citrus before returning home to face Bakersfield on Friday, Oct. 21, at 7:00 pm.
