AVC Women's Soccer recorded a 2-2 tie against the Santa Monica Corsairs at home on Tuesday.
The first half resulted in a 0-0 defensive battle. The Marauders opened up the second half with an unassisted goal from Kelsey Ruiz, her fourth on the season.
It appeared AVC might pull away when Emily Serrano scored an unassisted goal less than two minutes later, making it 2-0. But The Corsairs responded almost immediately to pull within one.
Santa Monica scored the tieing goal four minutes later. Antelope Valley recorded a total of 20 shots (8 on goal during the contest, while goalie Barbara Vivas had seven saves. Vivas has 27 saves on the season.
The Marauders are now 8-3-2 overall and 1-1-2 in conference play. They will take on LA Valley on the road on Friday before returning home to face Bakersfield in a key matchup on Tuesday, Oct. 19th.
