AVC Women's Soccer topped Oxnard 3-2 in a nonconference home match-up.
After a loss to the defending state champs, the Marauders were looking to climb back to .500 on the season. They came out aggressive and jumped out to an early lead when
Jennifer Quijada scored off an assist from Vittoria Cataldo in the 6th minute.
The Condors struck back at 13:22 with a goal from Evelyn Marquez. The defense tightened up for the rest of the period as the teams went in tied at the break.
Antelope Valley came out aggressive again scoring first in the second half. This time it was Evencia Welsh taking the assist from Jennifer Quijada and scoring in the 53rd minute. Welsh finished with one goal off three shots, while Quijada finished with a goal and an assist.
The Condors evened it up again when Evelyn Marquez scored her second goal of the day. The match appeared to be headed towards a tie when Vittoria Cataldo scored a deep goal off an assist from Presley Marshall in the 90th minute, giving AVC the 3-2 win. It was Cataldo's first goal of the season. Evencia Welsh leads the Marauders with six goals on the season.
AVC battles Canyons on Tuesday, before taking on Citrus at home on Friday, October 4th at 4:00 pm.
