AVC Women's Golf recorded a 5th-place finish as they hosted the Western State Conference Match #5 at Antelope Valley Country Club.
AVC recorded a team score of 415, ahead of Allan Hancock (419) and Citrus (458). College of the Canyons won with a score of 348, followed by Santa Barbara in second (360), Moorpark in third (366), and Bakersfield in fourth (380).
Taylor Waters finished sixth overall, leading the Marauders with an 86 on the day. Terry Muller finished tenth overall with a 90. The course length was 6,100 yards, providing the team's toughest test of the season. Head coach Patrick Londono likes what he sees, noting, "I'm proud of how the girls competed at home today... battling through adversity is something we discuss frequently, and that was put on display today."
Waters and Muller continue to have a successful freshman season as they both remain in the top 10 in the Western State Conference standings for the season.
Sophomore Sarah Baltimore finished third for the Marauders, followed by freshman Aleiyah Riviera-Gonzalez and Onalee Garusinghe.
Next up for AVC is Santa Maria Country Club, as Allan Hancock hosts WSC match #6 on Oct. 23.
