SALVADOR SETS NEW AVC RECORD WITH A 67 AT BUENA VENTURA GC
Marauder Women's Golf opened their season at the Chuck Melendez Invite in Ventura, and Salvador did not disappoint in her highly-anticipated AVC debut. The sophomore shot a record 67 and won individually by eight shots.
Congratulations to Marauder Golf's Arlene Salvador, who has set a new AVC Women's Golf record by shooting a score of 67 this past Monday at the Buena Ventura Golf Course in Ventura, CA.
Marauder Women's Golf opened their season at the Chuck Melendez Invite, and Salvador did not disappoint in her highly-anticipated AVC debut. The sophomore shot a record 67 and won individually by eight shots. She put on a ball-striking clinic hitting 15 greens on the day.
"Today's score by Arlene was a result of preparation, further reinforcing the correlation between hard work and success... Arlene has more great golf ahead, and today was a positive step towards her individual and our team's long-term goals." said head coach Patrick Londono.
In a field that included Canyons, Bakersfield, Citrus, Moorpark, and Santa Barbara, AVC also took first as a team with a score of 327, a 19 shot lead over second-best Bakersfield.
Madison Schafer also had a strong showing with a 75. Schafer had three birdies as she broke 80 for the first time in competition. Vashti Rachal shot a 90 with one birdie, while Adrianna Rosales shot a 93, including one birdie and a 41 on the front nine, which was a personal best.
Jasmin Carrillo had two birdies on the day, and Ayanna Langdale had one birdie.
The Marauders look to improve on a great start as they travel to Bakersfield to play at Rio Brave Country Club on Monday, Sept 6th.
