AVC Women's Basketball got back on track with a 64-59 home win over Citrus College on Saturday, followed by a 60-49 road win over College of the Canyons on Monday
The two wins bring the Marauders' record to 9-7 overall (2-0 in conference) and marks the fourth time they have won back-to-back games this season. Athieng Bol scored a game-high points in both games, with 26 against Citrus and 29 against Canyons. Shaniya Sinclair grabbed a game-high 19 rebounds against the Owls and a game-high 15 against the Cougars. Niela Marshall recorded a double-double on Saturday with 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Zaniyah Wyatt scored a season-high 18 points with 7 rebounds.
The Marauders shot 46% and 40% from the field while holding their opponents to 28% and 35%. They outrebounded both teams, 48-33 and 20-28.
Shaniya Sinclair leads the Western State-South Conference in rebounds with 12.3 per game, and Athieng Bol ranks No. 3 in points per game at 20.1.
The Marauders continue conference play at Bakersfield on Wednesday and will return home to battle West LA on Saturday at 3:00 pm.
