AVC Women's Basketball beat the LA Pierce Brahmas 67-45 in their first home contest of the season on Friday. The Marauder outscored the Brahmas in three of the four quarters, shooting 42% from the field on the day while holding Pierce to just over 26% shooting.
AVC outrebounded the Brahmas 46 to 32 and had more assists (26-16) but turned the ball over a total of 18 times compared to 15 turnovers by Pierce.
Cierra Steemer and Bridgett Ignacio led Antelope Valley with 17 points each. Steemer had 12 rebounds and a game-high 6 blocks, while Ignacio had 5 assists and 6 rebounds. Her 17 points were a season-high.
Courtney Hart had a game-high 16 rebounds along with 16 points, while Allysa Taylor led all players with 7 assists and 7 points.
The Marauders are now 5-5 and will host LA Harbor on Tuesday, 12/19, at 5:00 pm.
