TWO MORE MARAUDERS MOVE ON TO 4-YEAR SCHOOLS
Basketball's Eriona Williams and Softball's Nayely Delgado have accepted offers.
Women's Basketball's Eriona Williams accepted an offer the play at the University of La Verne! Williams spent the past three seasons with the Marauders after graduating from Carson High school. The 5'5 guard played over 1,636 minutes at AVC with 101 steals, 165 assists, 270 rebounds, and 519 points. She joins the Leopards, who went 12-13 before losing in the conference tournament quarterfinals last season. Under the leadership of head coach Jason Pruitt, La Verne competes in the NCAA's Division III, Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
Marauder Athletics and AVC Softball congratulate Nayely Delgado! Nayely has signed with Ottawa University in Ottawa, Kansas. Delgado played three seasons with the Marauders totaling 74 hits, with 6 home runs, 63 runs batted in, and 48 runs scored. The catcher/infielder from Liberty High School in Bakersfield had 240 at-bats in 81 games for AVC. She joins a Braves team that went 36-15-1 last season, including a 3-2 record in their postseason conference tournament and a 1-2 record in the opening round of the NAIA Softball National Championships. Ottawa competes in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Association and is under the leadership of head coach Jay Kahnt who is in his 21st season with the Braves.
