WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TOPS TAFT
AVC proved to be too strong for Taft again as they cruised to a 66-27 victory.
Marauder Women's Basketball picked up their second win against Taft College on Saturday, improving to a 2-0 record to start the season. AVC proved to be too strong for Taft again as they cruised to a 66-27 victory in the first of four home games scheduled for the Marauders. After a 48-31 advantage on Friday, Saturday's win helped the Marauders outscore the Cougars 114-58 throughout the two games.
It was Nicolette Pesquiera with 12 points and Bailey Cassell with 11 points leading the way for Antelope Valley. Pesquiera led all scorers and also had 5 rebounds and 2 steals. Cassell also contributed 6 rebounds and 3 assists.
Jadis Watson had a game-high 15 rebounds, while Niyah Page and Tatianna Greer each had 11 rebounds. Page also scored 9 points and had a game-high 4 steals. Eriona Williams scored 10 points, and Kholanee Harris chipped in 8 points.
The Marauders will travel to College of the Sequoias on March 12th for the first of two games against the Giants. The second game will be at AVC on March 13th.
