Kianna Cross led all scorers with 23 points while Niyah Page recorded her fourth straight double-double in the Marauders' 67-42 win over Bakersfield.
AVC jumped out to an early 15-7 lead in the first quarter as Page did the heavy lifting with 7 points. The Marauders more than doubled the Renegades output again in the second quarter as Coss warmed up with 7 points. The 20-point quarter was AVC's biggest of the game to put them up 35-16 at halftime.
Bakersfield appeared to get the offense in sync as they outscored Antelope Valley by a point in the third quarter. But it was Kiana Cross getting hot again with 10 fourth-quarter points to keep the Marauders out of reach. AVC held Bakersfield to 27.8% shooting from the filed as they shot 43.1% on the day.
Cross finished with 7 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 assists to go along with her game-high 23 points. Niyah Page ended with 15 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 blocks, her fourth double-double in as many games.
Eriona Williams had 13 points and 5 rebounds. The Freshmen from Carson High School also had a game-high 4 steals.
Malaiya Patton finished with 11 points while Andrea Cruz chipped in 4 points. Sara Navarro led all players in assists with 8.
The Marauders are now tied for second place in the Western State Conference at 3-1 (8-10 overall). They play on the road at Glendale, and Citrus, before returning home to face LA Valley on Wednesday, January 29th.
