Kianna Cross had a game-high 18 points and also grabbed 11 rebounds in AVC's 76-45 rout of the Cougars.
Antelope Valley got off to a fast start as they put up 30 points in the first quarter behind Cross' three 3-pointers. Both teams scored 16 points in the second quarter to give the Marauders a 46-25 lead at halftime.
AVC's defense played well coming out of the break, limiting West LA to 9 third-quarter points, while putting up 18. The Cougar's offense wasn't able to get going as AVC kept up the pressure. The Marauders forced 12 turnovers and had 9 steals while limiting the Cougars to 20% shooting from the field.
Malaiya Patton and Niyah Page both scored 11 points, while Page and Josephine Ferreira both had 12 rebounds. Ferreira also had 10 points. Sara Navarro led AVC in assists with 5 and also had 9 points.
Antelope Valley outscored West LA in three of the four quarters to get the 31-point win and improve to 6-10 record overall. They will play at Santa Monica on Wednesday before facing Bakersfield at home on Saturday.
