The Marauders started well shooting 57% from the field in the opening period. Kianna Cross went 3-5 from 3-point range to lead all scorers with 9 points in the first quarter, giving AVC a 22-19 advantage. The Cougars bounced back in the second quarter, outscoring the Marauders 20-12 to take a 39-34 lead into the halftime.
Page scored 17 of her 29 points in the second half as the game remained close throughout. Only two Marauders scored in the final quarter as Andrea Cruz scored three to go along with Page's ten fourth-quarter points. Page led all players in points and rebounds with her 29-16 performance and also added 3 blocks. Cross had a busy night finishing with 21 points, five rebounds, four assists, and three steals, while Josephine Ferreira added eight points, six rebounds, and two steals.
AVC had a chance to tie it up in the final seconds but came up short in the 67-69 loss. The Marauders (5-10) will take on West LA (6-9) on Saturday in another conference game at 5:00 pm at Antelope Valley College.
