PATTON LEADS ALL SCORERS AS MARAUDERS ROUTE BARSTOW IN GAME 2 OF HOLIDAY CLASSIC
AVC Women's Basketball topped the Barstow Vikings 68-27 in Friday's action at the AVC Holiday Basketball Classic.

AVC Women's Basketball topped the Barstow Vikings 68-27 in Friday's action at the AVC Holiday Basketball Classic. The Vikings offense was slow to get started, and the Marauders took full advantage by opening up a 15-4 lead after the first quarter of play. Sophomore Malaiya Patton led with 5 points in the period. Patton shot 6-11 from the field, including 2-4 from the three-point line finishing with a game-high 14 points.
Barstow bounced back to outscore AVC 16-13 in the second period and was down by eight at halftime. But the Marauders were able to hold the Vikings to a total of seven points in the entire second half, five in the third quarter, and just two in the fourth.
Antelope Valley continued to score with 15 points in the third quarter and 25 in the fourth quarter. Kianna Cross finished second in scoring with 11 points, while Niyah Page had 9 points and a game-high 9 rebounds. Andrea Cruz finished with 8 points and 4 steals, while Freshman Eriona Williams led all payers with 7 assists and also chipped in 7 points.
The Marauders will play their third and final game of the tournament against the Moorpark Raiders on Saturday at 3:00 PM at AVC.
